Using Compressor from Final Cut Pro 6 to make a small, quick-loading file (not high quality).

From FILE in FCP

   select Export, then

       select Using Compressor

Compressor fires up.

Lower left is a 2-tab window.   Probably best to move this window to the upper right so you can see way down to the bottom of it.

Select SETTINGS (now we go way down, down, down)

        Select Apple

        Select Other Workflows

        Select Web

        Select Web Videocast

              Select H.264 Webcasting

Drag it into the window upper left which may be called

                 ÒUntitledÓ or ÒUntitled 2Ó

Read the report at the bottom of ÒUntitledÓ and see if the number of Jobs and Targets are both Ò1Ó (one) and if so click on SUBMIT.

If not, then select ÒDestinationsÓ and choose where you want the finished file to go, and drag that to ÒUntitledÓ -- the left top corner window, and then, if the numbers match, click on SUBMIT.

You get a window to adjust the name of the new file, which should be a .mov, and after you have done that, a window appears showing the frame count progress, from 1 to the number of frames in your movie (seconds x 30) and be sure to let it go on and on.  Takes a long time.
